Individual Counseling

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a powerful tool that enables clients to replace negative images, memories and body sensations with neutral or positive ones. As a Master ART Practitioner, I help clients overcome past trauma and current pain they are holding onto. Through a system of eye movements and getting in touch with thoughts and feelings, my clients choose healthier ways to remember and feel about the past. I love that ART is empowering to my clients. They are active in this process. It is a joy to see how the human brain can so easily reveal new perspectives and bring breakthroughs.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

In-Person or Virtual Counseling

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) can bring relief from a variety of problem areas including:

TRAUMA, PTSD, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, ADHD, DYSLEXIA, STRESS, SLEEP DISTURBANCE, CRAVINGS, ETC.

Eye movements that are part of the ART process are calming. This treatment is interesting, creative and full of insights and breakthroughs. ART is a guided process, but clients are in control the entire time, and this makes it a comfortable experience.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) was developed in 2008 by a licensed therapist, Laney Rosenzweig. She had experience with several types of treatments including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Laney then discovered a faster and more concise process to help clients replace negative images and memories with positive ones (ART). Treatment time is often significantly shortened and results longer lasting with ART.

With ART the reality (or facts) of events and the past do not change, but the way it is remembered and felt often change for the better. This provides notable emotional relief, cognitive changes, and can even bring relief from related physical pain. Although it is not known how eye movements create these changes, research has confirmed the positive outcome of ART.

ART is a useful addition to both individual and couples’ therapy. If you are feeling stuck and want to move past some troubling memories, feelings and body sensations give ART a try. Even a session or two can help see better progress as you pursue your counseling goals.

Hang Good Memories

We make decisions about what we want to hang on our walls at home. Things that are important, meaningful, make us feel calm and happy. We choose to surround ourselves with comfort. We choose to not display things that would bring us bad thoughts, memories, and body sensations. We want to feel happy in our home.

Memories are Not Fixed

Every day many thoughts enter our brain. Some are pleasant and others are not. Some stay and become memories for a short time and others stay longer. Some become altered and are not based on reality. Memories are not fixed.

Keep the Knowledge, Lose the Pain

Are there memories you would like to erase? Although the reality of past events remains unchanged, you can choose what you will hang onto. You benefit most from memories that are helpful, not harmful. Accelerated Resolution Therapy can change the way your brain perceives memories.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Gains Popularity and Credibility

Many well recognized treatment and mental health centers now have ART trained therapists. This includes the following:
  • Walden Behavioral Care, MA
  • Western New England University MA
  • Idaho National Guard
  • Nuway Counseling Center, MN
  • Integrative Psychiatry Solutions, CA
  • The Connection, CT
  • University of South Florida
  • Uturn Foundation, AZ
  • Centered Practice, MN
  • Kentucky Counseling Center

Military Facilities

Fort Drum, Fort Benning, Fort Stewart, Fort Hood, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Walter Reed National Medical Center, Tripler Army Medical Center

Research is ongoing and continues to show results that ART is effective for a range of mental health conditions with short term treatment times. For example, in a 2018 study 202 US veterans or service members (including some with brain injuries) were treated with ART and experienced relief of PTSD symptoms in approximately 4 sessions.
